Edwards Mansion Wedding

My friends Mike and Kari were married at Edwards Mansion. This was really fun for me because I’ve always wanted to do an Edwards Mansion Wedding and I’ve been looking forward to Mike and Karis’ wedding ever since their engagement shoot. Just as I expected the wedding was a blast! Kari and Mike looked awesome and super happy and it was a pleasure to work with their family and friends.

The coordinator at Edwards Mansion was really professional and nice as she kept things moving smoothly. Also I got to work with my friend and fellow Brookie B. Christopher who came all the way from the east coast to help out!

Firestone Vineyard Wedding

I’ve been to Crossroads at Firestone several times but this is the first time I’ve been to the original Firestone Vineyard for a wedding. Again I have to thank my friend Andrew Van Gundy for having me there to help him shoot this wedding!

Santa Ynez, Solvang, Los Olividos and other Santa Barbara area Vineyard and Winery Weddings are fast becoming my favorite to shoot! Please have a look at Erika and Craig’s Wedding slide show and pictures and perhaps you will see why.

Crystal Cathedral Wedding

A wedding at the Crystal Cathedral!  Believe it or not I grew up in Orange County and I had never been to the Crystal Cathedral until Anne and Jayson’s Wedding.  I must thank fellow Santa Barbara Wedding Photographer Andrew Van Gundy for inviting me to help him out on this wedding.

Andrew and I started at Jayson’s moms house in Orange, California.  This is no ordinary house!  It is a well maintained Victorian constructed before the turn of the century!

After that it was off to the famous Crystal Cathedral for the wedding and reception.  I had a minor problem at this wedding because my external strobe broke but thanks to the light emitting from the building at the Crystal Cathedral and some trickery with my Canon flashes I was able to pull off the night time reception pretty good!

Nicole and John!  What a great couple!  I first got to work with Nicole and John a few months ago when I did their engagement shoot in Laguna Beach.  Check out the photos here: Nicole and John’s Engagement Pictures!

They had their wedding at a small Baptist Church in Fountain Valley and their wedding reception at Strawberry Farms in Irvine. This was my first time shooting a Strawberry Farms wedding and it was awesome! I can’t believe I’ve never had the chance to shoot there before. Strawberry Farms is one of the most unknown and underrated venues in Orange County. If you are planning your wedding I highly suggest you consider this venue.

It was a pleasure to photograph Lauren and Joseph’s wedding!  They were married at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Redondo Beach, California.  After the ceremony we had tons of time to do pictures of the married couple together and their bridal party.  We went to a local park then over to the Trump National Golf Club before heading over to their wedding reception at Fort MacArthur.

Electra Cruises Wedding

Electra Cruises Wedding! This is the first time in a while that I’ve shot a yacht wedding. The first wedding I ever shot back in 1996 was on a yacht in the Newport Harbor and I saw the actual boat go by during Shenelle and Kevin’s wedding. Very nostalgic for me. Anyway enough about that.

Shenelle and Kevin had their ceremony at St. James Anglican Church. After the ceremony we did some shots around the church grounds then we walked down to Electra Cruises for the reception. The reception was totally fun! Shenelle and Kevin’s family and friends are great people and I am super glad to have been their photographer!

Santa Barbara Historical Museum Wedding

Santa Barbara weddings are my favorite! A few weeks back I got to shoot Alissa and Jacob’s wedding with my friend Andrew. This couple was a lot of fun and we got to do pictures in several beautiful locations around Santa Barbara including Fess Parker’s Doubletree Resort and the Santa Barbara Mission before the ceremony and reception at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum. San Diego Wedding

A couple weeks ago I had the unusual pleasure of shooting the wedding of a couple I never met before.  Usually its just a little uncomfortable photographing a wedding when I never met the couple but Jamie, Marc, their friends and their family were so rad that it didn’t even matter.  We hit it off right off the bat.

My assistant, Jesse, and I started with Jamie and the girls getting ready at the Estancia Resort and Spa in San Diego. These girls are characters for sure! The coolest couple of bride’s maids ever!

After hanging out with Jamie and her bride’s maids for a while we headed over to the Martin Johnson House for the wedding ceremony. It was a very unusual and quaint venue with beautiful ocean views.

After the ceremony we went over to the Salk Institute on the vast UCSD campuses. If you have never seen this area let me tell you it is awesome for its architecture and awesome Southern California ocean views. We got some rad shots there in infrared as well as the standard uv capture.

Alta Vista Country Club Wedding

Last week I was called by my friend over at Happy Photos to give him a hand at Nicole and David’s wedding in Orange County. Nicole and David were married at Messiah Lutheran Church in Yorba Linda and they had their wedding reception at the Alta Vista Country Club in Placentia, California.  The couple was so cool!
I started with getting some detail shots with the bride getting ready. When my friend arrived I went to get shots with the guys and that was awesome because they were totally animated. When we finished that the bride and groom had their first glance and I got the capture the moment! Next was the ceremony.
It was a beautiful ceremony inside the Messiah Lutheran Church. I caught a few shots of the bride and groom looking into each others eyes as well of some of the congregation singing worship music.
When we got to the Alta Vista Country Club and Golf Course for their wedding reception I hung out in the back ground to make the slide show. You can check that out here.
